Level III/III+

Level III/III+ body armor provides additional special threat protections beyond the standard NIJ Level III threat (M80). Level III+ plates provide upgraded protection from special threats such as M193, M855, M855A1, and 7.62x39 MSC. Level III+ plates often provide great weight savings, but forgive armor piercing protection in Level IV plates.
